Hi everyone! Now that all of you should be used to posting I am going to get a bit tougher about grades. In order to receive full credit you need to follow the directions I have given for posting and make sure that you are answering the specific question for the week. Remember to reread what you are about to post! This will help to ensure what you have written will make sense to anyone reading your post. For this weeks post you need to do the following:
- write a minimum of two paragraphs
- refer to the book in your response
Here is the question for this week:
• How do the characters and/or events connect with your own experiences?

Hey Mrs.Reed charters can contect to you and your life because alot of kids go throw the sme thing.that why some teachers tell you to read a book that is text to self or text to world.so you can see how some charters in a story could relate to your life.like in my book a lost boy it is text to world because alot of children went and are going throw the same thing as daivid (the charter in my book). So there loys of ways charters can relate to your life or relate to something that going on in the world.
Hi miss Reed! well since i had to get a new book, its going to be pretty simple to answer the question. The only character i know so far is Camron. He is currently in a analytical meeting thing at school. I had a meeting like that before. Ha it reminded me of like a therapy session of some sort. But right now, Camron is talking about his life like family, where he lives, friends, grades, etc. I did exactly that. So i felt really connected.
my book swallowing stones connects to experiences in my life because in the story there is alot of guilt going around because of what the peaople have done in the story such as killing someone and being mean to your friends just because your mad at someone.i have done that to peaople but i have never killed anyone before so i cannot realte to that. but i can relate to the main character becuase he ahs alot of guilt about killig the man and he tries to hide what he did because he dosnt want to get in trouble. i have done the same thing but not killing anyone
This is Tyre again and actually the characters in this book I can't connect to because nothing really ever happens. I could relate, I guess if im ever bored or anything, but other than that this book and the characters, I cant relate to. "It's still "A Seperate Peace"
Hi Mrs reed!
one main character in the book im reading is Steve Harmon.he is being charged with murder of a drugstore owner.ummm ive never killed someone so its hard for me to relate to the character.but i have been in a situation when everything seemed to wrong to me,just like what happened to steve.as far as i know steve hasnt been proved guilty and his attitude seems like he didnt kill the store owner.but steves attorney-another character-is trying to prove that steve didnt do it.i have been in situations where i had to prove something.in fact i had to prove something in alot of situations.so i can rekate to a secondary chartacter rather then a main character
Hey Ms. Reed
Well, to answer your question about how the characters in my book relate to me is that I don't think that they do. I hope that they don't because I'm reading "Monster" and the kids in that story are ciminals. I'm not a criminal so I can't really relate to them. The only thhing that I can relate to is that they're kids and that all kids make mistakes in their life. I know that I've done that.
Hello Ms. Reed,
Well some of the characters and events that have happend in the book that I read; are very close to what I used to do. Take Anna (one of the characters) for example inorder to deal with the issues that she faced, the only way that she could think of how to avoid them was by partying. That is how I used to deal with problems that I had. For example living up to my aunt and uncle's exspectations were really high and hard. Me trying to do good in school and her wanting me to hangout with the smart kids just wasn't me.
Then I started to hangout with the wrong crowds and doing stuff that i shouldn't have (partying). Just like Anna's parent's in the book had sent her away to a camp to get her crap together; Is how my aunt delt with me, by sending me to my other aunt and uncles house for a couple of weeks to get my stuff together. Some other things that I can relate to Anna (the character in the book)are having to chose friends and nowing who to hangout with and who not to hangout with. Just like her she had to decide if the girls she would soon to make friends with would support her and have her back. So me reading the book that you picked out was a great book because I could relate to every thing that had happen to Anna and friends.
<3 yah!
hey mrs reed,
im reading "someone to love me". I can connect with this book becuase of the simple fact that in the book there is drama with her mother about this boy that she likes. Her mama is telling her that she doesnt need a boyfriend and that bnoys are just drama ... they aint gonna pay yopur bills when you get older and all that other good stuff .my connection is that my mama says the same thing but i never listen to her though...lol
Hey Mrs.Reed
the events in the book "Chicken soup for teenage soul". The events in the book are exactly like mine because i went thourgh the same tragedies. I went thourgh the whole losing my father and i cant really talk about that out loud. I dont always share stuff because i dont want people think that i need more attention than anyone else. i just want to be treated the same and when people know my story they start treating me different. In one poem there is this girl that talks about wanting to kill herself. That is how i feal everyday but i really dont want people to know . It hurts me really bad to think this because people are so sympathetic to me. Last year why i was at school taking a test on the computers i got called down and i wasnt surprised because i knew it would happen one day. I lost my Aunt just last year and this book just helps me be able to talk to people.
If i knew the people who wrote the book i would say thanks and tell them how much the book has helped me thourgh my life and at home. I didnt understand the pain i go thourgh because i dont pay attention to myself i dont do waht is right for me. This effects me really bad. I now know there are people that have gone thourgh the experience that i have. I wish i could talk to people without bursting into tears. This book really helped me thourgh everything. Thanks Mrs.Reed

men cry in the dark by Michael Baisend. Today i read about a man name Derek, and Derek are the main character of this story.Derek went to school to become a lawyer and but Derek is really not in to that he was really kind of force to do that from his dad.Derek end up making his own decision. Which was to be a realestate man. Also he was a model and he was really end to that.
HEY MS.REED I AM CURRENTLY READING THE BOOK CALLED CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE TEENAGE SOUL STILL AND I THINK THEY RELATE TO MY EXPERIENCES IN LIFE BECAUSE I AM A TEENAGER AND I GO THROUGH THESE THINGS IN EVERYDAY LIFE AS A TEENAGER THAT IS IN HIGHSCHOOL. IT GIVES ME ADViCE AND SOMETIMES HELPS ME.

Mrs Reed,
My book is Come as you are: The story of Nirvana, and I think that how me and the "main" character relate, are that Kurt Cobain, and I both have long blonde hair, a lazy attitude, a sense of humor, that same music taste, and we both play musical instruments. I think that our main similarity is the music taste part. We both like first and second generation punk bands, like the Sex pistols, Anti-nowhere league, Black Flag, Television, etc. Except where we fall differently in that is, Kurt Cobain strived to be called a 'punk' in a 'punk' band, so he didn't get what he wanted, and was then labeled as a 'grunge' band, which wasn't okay with him. He continued his music career, which didn't last long cause' he killed himself. I think as soon as you call yourself a 'punk' you're not, because the whole punk scene was about having fun, living life then, and there, and doing your own thing, there were virtually no people judgemental to gays, or hippies, or anything there is now, it was pretty much a haven for people. Which is why I think Kurt Cobain would have never made it as a punk, he would of detoryed the scene, and made it an angry scene, which it is now. I think Kurt Cobain was very influential to many bands though, like Candlebox, or Sum 41, or Greenday, and alot more nu-gen punk.

I dont think i can say that i really connect wit the character cause i dont face the problems he does.In the book the boy is goin through an abusive relationship with his mom. I guess i could say atleast we both have some type of relationship with our parents that would be the ony thng. The other thing i guess i could maybe say is the boy goes through alot of obstacles in his life.
The only obstacles i can really say that i have been trhough would be sports. But between the two of the obstacles the one i would not want tooo face is his.He has too worry if his mom is in a bad mood because if she is then its time for him too get beat.
The charcater in the book I am reading, Tears Of A Tiger, can realte to me. At the beginning of the book, Robbie Washington dies in a car accident on the highway. All his friends and family are hurt because of the death. Later on in the book there is another death. Andy Jackson kills himself because he can't deal with the guilt of his friends death. The way I realte is death in the book.
I lost my mom in a car accident when I was only 11 years old. It still hurts me just thinking about it and I cry sometimes. I can relate to Robbie Washington's family because they lost their son in a car accident. I lost my mom in a car accident that was pretty bad. Its not fun losing someone you love.
I can also relate to Andy because he had to go see someone to get help. I had to go every once in a while. I still cry about the death but I don't hold it up inside me. I talk to people, even you Ms.Reed.
Thanks for everything!
Sarah,
Feel feel to talk with me anytime. Have a good evening.
Mrs. Reed
hey miss reed. well i found my book. so yay yay yay. anyways. yeah i kinda relate to ginny. she is a teenager like me. plus in the sitiuations she gets in, she reacts just like i would. I think though if I were her, i wouldn't have had anything to do with that whole epidemic of a search for her aunt. thats just crazy. And I would soooooooo dump keith's butt. He isn't right for her and i want her to stop liking him. But other than that, Ginny really relates to me.
Hello Mrs.Reed, the main character in my book can kind of relate to me because he is brave and just goes with the right flow.I can relate to him because I'am also brave for doing the right thing when i know that its going to benefit me in the end.The character lives in the south and he loves and so do I.He chooses the right kind of of friends to hangout as so do I.
The book I'am reading is almost done its about time that I need to pick out a new book to read. But anyways I think I can benefit from his good moral values as so as everybody else.I like how the main character sticks up for his friends as so do I for my friends when they are in need.
Hey Mrs.Reed, I'm reading the book "A Child Called It" and I really cant connect with the characters because i dont get abused at home but i can make some connections with the parent arguing. The boy gets beat by his mom so badly its terrible he has to steal food all the time because his mom wont feed him, I never had to steal so i dont think my book kind of goes along with this question. Its so hard to connect with the characters in my book.
hi mrs.reed,
in the book "out of war" i can really relate to beto. beto is a young guy who is trying to fight for peace. so he begins to join the childrens movement for peace. along with this movement he begins to join a local church and becomes an altar boy. this is where i relate to him because i also go to church and i am involved with the childrens ministry. another way i can relate to beto is that he wants peace for colombia and i want peace for this world. just like him i want this world to have peace and let evry child have their rights like they deserve it.
