This week the blog is just two questions! I would like to see a two paragraph answer ( 4-5 sentences). Come on....show me what you "ya got!" PLEASE DO NOT GIVE ME A SUMMARY OF YOUR BOOK!!!!
What does the author do most effectively? What does the author do least effectively?
Notice the first post. I wrote it about the book I have just read. Have fun.

I just finished "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert. One of the things that made me really enjoy this book was how the author described people, places, and situations in great detail. This allowed me to visualize what she was writing about. Her attention to detail and the use of imagery is one of the things I think she did best. I also enjoyed her use of humor. This added to her descriptions. While I read this book, I found myself turning pages down in order to mark passages I liked or wanted to go back to sooner or later.
I think Gilbert could have improved her writing but making some of the "scenes" shorter. There were times in the book that I found myself thinking..."Come on, what is next?" Eventually, she would get on with the storyline. Overall, I loved her writing and look forward to her publishing another book.
If anyone would like to borrow this book, just let me know.
Dear Ms. Reed,
I have been reading the book Monster. I'm reading that book because I think its very interesting. I think that this is a book that I actually like. For me, finding a book that I really like is hard. This book keeps me thinking about what is going to happen next i the story. It doesnt tell me whats going to happen like other books. It keeps my brain going and thinking hard.
mrs reed,
im reading a book called storm breaker and i really like it. the author to me does alot of like thinking and like well thought out sentences like deep. he really like to think deep about what he like to read. Instead of usual words he uses bigger words that are never used. The author does not much least effectively but to me when like a big or exciting part is coming up it is still good but dosent have a good ending.

The author i think is very good, he includes all of the drama not just the sitistics. He gives the whole story not bits and peices. He always keeps you woundering whats going to happen next.I like how he puts the dates of when it happened so you have a refrence point.
There really isnt anything that i dont like about this author i think he is very good.He gives lots of details, and lots of information.
The book I'm reading is called eclipse. The authors name is Stephanie Meyers. In the book she is always very discriptive on how the charaters are feeling. As you read its like your there watching teh charaters with how she discribes them. She gets into there body languege their tone, you can see how tings are happening through out the book. And when she describes teh scene you can picture it and it is just amazing how you see and feel anything by reading. But if you can consentrait and you read this book you can its very entertaining. And teh plat is also great inbetween chapters even you almost feel like its a cliff hanger is coming. But at the end its not that bad there are pratcially no cliff hangers at the end of teh book but you still want to read the next one.
The series i am reading is Circu Du Freak by Darren Shan. I think He is a very good author and a powerful wrighter. He is very good at details and explainting. Those both kinda falls in the same catigorie. He is a very great wrighter he uses more than enough details. When there is a fight sean or anything to that stature he is an amazing wrighter. The gore and thriller is great. I hope he keeps wrighting or teaches someone to wright exactly like him and keep his books alive!!!!!!!!!!
In my book bones and the chisholm trail the author really knows what he is doing as far as writing a well written book for all ages. The words really come out to you but the makes you have a better range of vocabulary.
What the author doesn't do effectively is that the book needs to be expanded in a better way. That is about it. Thanks Ms.Reed.
HEY MISS REED,
THIS IS REINA THE BOOK IM CURRENTLY READING IS BOOK IM READING NOW IS JASON AND KYRA ITS REALLY A LOVE STORY ON TEENS AND HOW THIS JOC FOOTBALL PLAYER FALLS IN LOVE WITH THIS NERD BUT THEN SHE FINDS OUT HE'S CHEATING ON HER. BUT THE AUTHOR WRITES AS IF SHE HAS BEEN THERE BEFORE SO THE BOOKS REAL GOOD AND CANT WAIT TO READ MORE
wat the author does effectivly or watever that word is is making alot of twist in the book.almost every chapter turns the hole story around but wat he/she does bad at is making the twist to ovious

Hey Ms.Reed.
Well I'm still reading the book "13 Little Blue Envelopes". The author is great on keeping me guesing of where Ginny is going to go and what she will find there. It's just the author doesn't give me enough to be all excited about. Don't get me wrong, the book is great. I just feel like it's not the best I've read before. Ginny seems to be in little problems and the author makes me so happy when I find out that she gets to go somewhere new. All I want is for the author to do like a big twist. Something I would never guess would happen. That would definitely keep me coming back. =)
Also I think Ginny could at least go to keith and tell him the truth. But nooooo.... she's got to be all " I'm too scared" and run to other guys. But whatever.

I am reading a child called it I think this book is pretty depressing so far.Well the other pretty much explains everything for his stuation and as too what i would think doesnt leave anything out.He talks in detail about how he is constantly starved and somtimes abused. When he gets abused it is major I mean if your mom is phsyco enough to stab you then somthing is definately wrong and that is my blog
love you Mrs.Reed
Hey Mrs.Reed
The book I was reading was called
Searching For Safety.
One of the things I really enjoyed in the book was how tha author described people, in made it sound like real life situation.
I've started a new book because it seems like i cant get into the book, like i get into the other books that the author wrote.
Well have a nice time enjoying how i feel.
Hey Mrs.Reed!
I think the author of Monster is a good author.he has a unique way in writing the book.the book is written like a movie script and feels as if you are on actor reading a script for a movie.i think the way he wrote this book is the most important aspect of his writing.it is very effective in me continuing the book.if it was another book writen in the same format i would probally stop reading it.
but what i dont find effective is the storyline.it is only focused on one thing:the court case.i thought it would move on and not be all about the murder trial the book stays in one place nothing new happens.its the same basic court case things that have been happening from the begining.
hey mrs.reed im almost finshed with the book "TEARS OF A TIGER" so far the author has been stating out the facts and details most effectively. the least effectively thing that she/he has done was not giving complete statements......but anyways so far i like the story and i cant wait to see wat happens next...
bye mrs. reed
Dear Mrs. Read,
I am currantly reading Hamelet written by William ShakeSpear. The most effective thing that he has done in this tragic play is by killing Hamelets father, and having him seeking out revenge on who ever had killed his beloved father. The least effective thing he does is having Hamelets uncle Claudius move in with him and his mother tring to take over as king.
Sincerly,
Nikkita M Muldrow
I'm still reading "A Seperate Peace". The techniques the author uses most effectively are....NONE
Well yeah kinda, he does creatively bore you to death. When he describes people he gives too many details like how Gene(Narrator) describes Finny,(His best friend)he talks about his broad shoulders and what not, it actually sounds a little fruity to me.(watch out Finny)The worst thing the author does is get you interested in the book. The Narrator gives too much details on the characters in the book and theres not enough going on in this book anyways....The author is slippin'(he should really stop making books)
I am reading the book "Speak". The author in the book does the most effectively is the author keeps the book moving and not stuck in one setting. Also the author is very good at having marking poings in the book. It helps me understand where they are and what the date is and what there doing.
The author does least effectively is talk about the new characters. When a new character the author does not talk about the character that much.I like when a author elaborates about a new character and a little bit of there past.

In my book "Freak the Mighty" the author likes to make it seem like the main charactor Max, is this big dumb person with slow reilization skills [lol],and stick him, with a boy who has a 4.0 GPA.Thats what my author does effectivley, and what my author dosent do effectivley is put better wording in the book to where Max seems a little bit too dumb, And sometimes its annoying. I like this book a lot,but she needs to get it right,[lol]

HEY MRS.REED,
THE BOOK THAT I AM CURRENTLY READING IS CALLED "TEARS OF A TIGER" BY SHARON M. DRAPER.I WAS REQUIERD TO READ THIS BOOOK IN ENGLISH CLASS, SO I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE BORING, BUT IT'S A VERY GOOD BOOK I JUST FINISHED IT. THE THINGS IN THIS BOOK THAT THE AUTHOR COULD HAVE DID LEAST EFFECTIVELY WAS THAT SHE MADE THE CHAPTERS VERY, VERY SHORT, LIKE 6-7 PAGES! EACH CHAPTER WAS ON DIFFRENT SUBJECTS THAT WAS GOING ON IN THE STORY, AND THAT GOT KIND OF CONFUSING AFTER A WHILE. A THING THAT THE AUTHOR DID EFFECTIVELY WAS EVEN THOUGH THE CHAPTERS WEREN'T VERY LONG SHE GAVE VERY GOOD DETAILS ABOUT WHAT WAS GOING ON IN THAT CHAPTER.
hey mrs reed
In my book which is 'someone to love' the author makes you want to keep going on with the book. But there are some parts in the story that are kind of boring though. To be honest i actually like the book because it atlks about stuff that actually goes on in peoples lives!!!! hugs and kisses...
HEY MS.REED I AM CURRENTLY READING THE BOOK CALLED CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE TEENAGE SOUL.
THE AUTHORS ARE VERY GOOD AT LETTING THE READER KNOW ABOUT THAT CERTAIN SUBJECT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT IN THAT STORY[BECAUSE THEY HAVE DIFFERENT SHORT STORIES]THEY ARE VERY GOOD AT THAT AND THE THING ABOUT IT IS IT KEEPS ME WANTING TO READ MORE AND MORE IM NOT LIKE THAT WITH OTHER BOOKS OR BOOKS AT ALL REALLY TO BE HONEST.THE THINGS THE AUTHORS DO THE WORST IS HONESTLY I HAVE NOTHING THEY ARE GOOD AT LETTING US KNOW WHAT HAPPENS EVERYDAY IN A TEENAGERS LIFE

HEY MRS. REED, IM READING A BOOK CALLED SLAM!. I FORGOT WHO THE AUTHOR
IS BUT I LIKE THE WAY HE RELATES THIS BOOK TO THE READERS PERSONAL PROBLEMS IN REALITY. THE AUTHOR USES SLANG TERMS SUCH AS THE BOY IN THE STORY USES. WHEN YOU READ THE PASSAGES YOU CAN PICTURE WHATS GOING ON IN THE WHOLE BOOK.
ALSO, SOMETHINGS THE AUTHOR DOESN'T USE GOOD ENOUGH IS MORE IMPORTANT CHARACTERS. IT SEEMS LIKE THE WHOLE BOOK REVOLVES AROUND SLAM. I DIDNT GET FAR ENOUGH IN THE BOOK BUT SO FAR THERES NOT MANY THINGS I DONT LIKE. BUT OVERALL I LIKE THIS BOOK AND IM PLANNING TO READ MORE AND LEARN MORE ABOUT THE AUTHOR. OKAY MS.REED SEE YOU IN CLASS. AND THE MORAL OF THE STORY IS GATORS SUCK!!! LOVE YOU MRS. REED BYE.
Mrs. Reed, I am still reading "Revenge of the wannabes" I am now on page 142. In this book the author uses very detailed and descriptive words and similes for example'her teeth looked liked
rows of white Chiclets, and her eyes were mint
green' or 'The cold temperature turned her breath into white puffs of air taht came out of her mouth when she spoke.' I am really getting into this book an I think I willbe finished by next week. (p.s. the blogg was kind of messing up so that's why it lookes like it does up top). Bye!!!
The author in monster is very well organized the the whole book. He keeps you on the edge and makes you want to read more. he shows everyones emotion in every part of the book. He also makes it easy for you to remember the important stuff.
One thing he could of done was make things a little bit shorter. Other than that it is a great book and there is nothing that he doesn't do that i don't like.

Hey Its your Boy Sizemore,
The Author of the book A Child Called It is very talented. What he did that was most effective to the reader was give exellent detail about what happened. He even kept me "a none reader" interested! Their is nothing that I have realized so far that the author has done least effective in the story. I look foward to read what happens next!
uhh.....hello
the book im reading is slam,by walter dean myers.I like this book alot the thing that i like about it is that he really knows how to get the readers attention. He gives alot of details that lets me picture everything, all the important stuff.
What i dont like how the author puts in to much details.Stuff that doesnt really matter,he trys to add stuff to make a sentence or a paragraph longer.
Mrs.Reed
I am reading "Chicken soup for the teenage soul". One of the things that the author does to make the book so interesting is they put different things in about stuff like tough times or friendship. This helps me to understand problems i have in real life. This makes the book so upsetting and funny just how the author writes the book. They put comics and description and poems telling the story.

I am still reading Tears Of A Tiger. The one thing that makes me really enjoy the book is the way the author writes the book. She writes in different points of view. She makes it seem that the story really happen and make me want to read it more.
The one thing that I don't like about the book is way the author has the begging of the book. She already tells what is going to happen to one of the characters. Then ine of the chatacters has a flashback on what happen before the character got in what happen in the beginnig of the book. She really confused me and I went on reading the book, she finally made it clearer why she put the beginning at the front instead when it happen.
The author Michael Baisend, What he do effectively. Is how he keep the book interesting. He keeps it interesting by having alot of humor in the past of Derek.Like he list plenty of times how, Derek and his friends use to hangout involving their past and all the bad things they use to do such as, fighting, and they always had each other back. What the author Michael Baisend did ineffectively was nothing to me but, when he kept you hooked. What i mean by hooked is that he would carry you on by keeping an interesting gesture in the book and keep it going in the next chapter. Then he will finally bring it out.Have a Great Day!Ms.Reed.
